What people say about Divina Vida

Divina Vida is an experience, not just an accomodation on a cacao farm. Its a magical place, up in the mountains of Costa Rica, far away from any distractions surrounded by forest and wildlife. You can either stay here as part of a retreat or visit for a cacao tour, with vegan food cooked fresh daily and the chance to rewind. If you got the chance to come here, do it and you wont regret it as its a once in a lifetime experience while making your own chocolate from the bean.

As I took the trek up the winding, bumpy road to Divina Vida, I passed a few friendly faces. I learned that most of the people on the mountain were born and raised here and some of them work at Divina Vida where they share their knowledge of the plants and traditions of the mountain and also learn from Lisa, the owner, who is a lifelong learner and  a wealth of knowledge.

Visiting the finca is a welcoming experience. The horses take notice as you approach, the Mackaws or Toucans might fly in and squawk, the birds are always singing, the monkeys might chatter as they pass by, the insects buzz, and you will likely catch a glimpse of shimmering wings of the Blue Morpho or other beautiful butterflies.

The finca is abundant with fruit trees, and natural plants which are used on the farm to make teas, plant medicine, and chocolate.  In the evenings, the air is fragrant with the scent of the Ylang Ylang tree.  The healing home is welcoming, the kitchen is inviting, the grounds are private.

You will awake to the sounds of the birds and retire to the lull of the night sounds. The rhythm is slow and relaxing. It’s a wonderful place to unplug and rejuvenate.

I am thankful and grateful to know Lisa and spend time at Divina Vida.

Upon entering the gates of Finca DivinaVida, one can sense the serenity and abundant nature that surrounds this secluded oasis. This is not a place that one stumbles upon while out traveling, you have to want to be here. Everything about it is filled with purpose and intent. In my case, DivinaVida found me. Being welcomed at the door by Lisa, the Divine Goddess Healer as I have come to call her, one can instantly tell that this is a safe space that holds no judgement, only love and acceptance. Flory was there to greet me as well. A tour with Flory and a lesson in cacao and chocolate making is not to be missed. She embodies the soul of Mama Cacao and one can't help but sense the quiet respect and reverence she holds for this sacred plant. Observing and participating in bringing the cacao from fruit to unbelievably delicious chocolate is a lesson in patience and decades of knowledge. Be sure to taste the chocolate she mixes with key lime and sea salt, a treat for the senses!

What can I say about Lisa, the Divine Goddess Healer? She is an intuitive guide, a fountain of knowledge from a life well lived, and a loving place to land should your visit include a journey. I felt so welcome and cared for during my stay. From the thoughtful gift bag in my spacious private room with full bath, to the heavenly massage she arranged at the end of my stay to send me back into the real world, mind and body renewed. Every detail was attended to with quiet grace and plenty of space for me to be me. I felt instantly at home be it settling in for a solo meditation in the evening, a garden yoga session each morning, heading out for some challenging hikes with stunning views, and returning for a refreshing dip in the beautiful pool. Flory provided wonderful meals and juices, light, fresh and perfect for this vegetarian to enjoy.

The opening of my personal plant medicine journey commenced with a Cacao ceremony, an ancient and heart opening experience. This set the stage for a personal journey like no other. I was challenged in ways that I never knew existed. I emerged from this journey with a fully open heart, mind and soul. Lisa was able to ask just the right questions and gently led me to insights that were truly life changing. I am well aware of the work that will need to continue but the experience I had at Finca DivinaVida was exactly what I was looking for as a catalyst to begin the next phase of my life. I have nothing but the deepest gratitude for my experience and the path I am now on to healing and wholeness.

Anyone who is in search of a profound experience surrounded by the love, support and knowledge of these two amazing women in a beautiful, private, natural environment, need look no further.

I have had the extreme pleasure of staying on two occasions for extended periods at Divina Vida Healing Center over the past several years. The environment is extremely comfortable and nurturing in every aspect. Waking up with the sun to the incredible sounds of birds and indigenous animals is heavenly. The food, company and services are amazing.

I plan to travel again this upcoming February and look forward to this beautiful and peaceful "home away from home!"
