Design your healing retreat to be all that you would want it to be.  We'll start by helping you to choose the meal plan that fits your goals.   Our Chef will coach you to create the healthiest possible choices for your stay with us.  We will help you to design a wellness protocol that will support your goals which could be a cleansing fast or a raw vegan or vegetarian menu or a combination depending on the length of your stay.  Much of the food comes from our organic farm where you will be staying.  Dream your healthiest dream and we will help you get there. Time in nature and time in sacred space will help you to transform your life and realize your goals.  We are happy to design a three, five, seven or 10 day, or longer, retreat for you.

Anytime Raw, Vegan or Juice Fast Cleanse

Why Raw? Maybe Vegan? How about Juicing?

The raw food diet is a lifestyle diet where at least 75% of all food consumed is eaten raw and never commercially processed or cooked.

The raw food diet offers the following benefits:

  • weight control; it is difficult to become obese on a raw food diet

  • increased energy

  • better digestion

  • a stronger immune system

  • more mental clarity and creativity

  • improved skin

  • a reduced risk of heart disease and other chronic diseases

Raw fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds are all brimming with vitamins and minerals which can help boost our immune system, give our gums a great workout, keep us slim and leave our skin looking young and silky.

Raw fruit and vegetables deliver far higher levels of nutrients to our body than cooked food. In fact, nutritionist Jane Griffin believes raw food contains a third more vitamins and minerals than cooked food. The thing that ties various raw food diets together is that generally no foods that have been pasteurized, homogenized, or produced with the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, industrial solvents or chemical food additives are included. This means avoiding, or at least greatly reducing, most popular packaged and processed foods sold in the grocery store like breads, bottled condiments, cereals, crackers, cheese, refined oils and processed meats.

Raw foods have a big impact on the acid/alkaline balance in our bodies. Diseases develop more easily within the body when acidity rises, because acidosis lowers immunity. The body can become overly acidic due to environmental pollutants, stress, processed and refined foods, lack of nutrients, and mineral-deficient water. Cooked foods create even more acidity in the body, but on the other hand, raw foods neutralize acid and help alkalize the body.

Here are some raw foods you can start to eating regularly:

  1. Leafy greens

  2. Citrus fruits (several servings per day)

  3. Sunflower, sesame and pumpkin seeds

  4. Avocados

  5. Coconut kefir/raw and organic regular kefir

  6. Raw veggies like carrots, celery, peppers, tomatoes, etc.

  7. Raw yogurt

  8. Extra virgin coconut or olive oil

  9. Cultured veggies (like sauerkraut or kimchi)

  10. Watermelon and cantaloupe

Vegan might be a better choice for you…what is the difference?

Vegetarians do not consume any fish, meat, or poultry. A lacto-vegetarian consumes dairy products and an ovo-vegetarian consumes eggs. A lacto-ovo vegetarian consumes both dairy products and eggs, but no meat.

Vegans are vegetarians who do not consume any animal/insect derived products including dairy products, eggs, and honey. This group avoids animal/insect-based food dyes, binders, and additives.

Individuals following a Raw Diet consume products that are uncooked and unprocessed. The percentage of raw foods can vary from 50-100% raw.  Their diet may or may not be vegan.  Consumers of the raw diet do not cook foods at temperatures greater than 116 degrees Fahrenheit.

Should I Juice?

Drinking adequate fluids like water and low sugar, cold pressed juice helps the body function more efficiently, improves energy, and helps remove toxins more effectively. Drinking water throughout the day, even while on your juice cleanse helps keep everything moving. Hydration also makes your skin glow.

New studies are showing that juice cleansing is a powerful and effective way to keep the body’s systems in balance. UCLA recently published a body of work on the health benefits of a three-day juice cleanse. Their research illustrated that juice cleanses increase beneficial gut bacteria, promote weight loss and improve general well-being.

Learn tree to bar methods of fermentation, drying, roasting, cracking, winnowing, refining and tempering chocolate.  Then, learn how to infuse truffles with edible flowers, ginger, nuts and more.  Learn the fine art of dipping and decorating chocolates including how to make and use your own transfer sheets for artistic edibles that are uniquely your own.  We will make lattice and chocolate nests AND participate in a real cacao ceremony with sound healing Tibetan bowls.

Gabrielle France, owner of Petit Patrie Chocolate in Nova Scotia has trained with Ecole Chocolate and Monteal’s Chocolate Academy.  She has trained with some of the best Chefs in the industry including Master Chololatier Mark Tilling, Nancy Samson and Ludovic Fresse.  More recently, Gabrielle attended the International Institute of Chocolate and Cacao Tasting and received her Level 2 Certification in Chocolate Tasting.  This is similar to a Sommelier training with wine wherein she is able to identify cacao by it’s region and soil type.  She has also studied the fine art of roasting cacao at Chocolate Alchemy in Oregon.
